Arramo and Bonga

Youth Evangelization Initiatives

Living Waters is actively engaged in two Youth Evangelization projects in Arramo and Bonga, where a dedicated team of young individuals convene at a central hub for bible study and training sessions. Subsequently, each team member returns to their respective home village to replicate the training they received among a group of local youths. Twice a year, LWMT conducts a 3-day program in these regions, focusing on Bible education, Catholic Faith, leadership development, and evangelization skills.

Support Provided

Spiritual Support to the Local Community

Living Waters sponsors transportation, meals, and miscellaneous expenses related to the 3-day programs and ongoing training sessions. Additionally, we ensure that each participant has access to a personal Bible, which they can use within their respective villages.

This mission goes beyond evangelization and spiritual formation and actively promotes youth involvement in local chapels, fostering community unity in a region marked by tribal divisions.

Challenges

Challenges and Impact of COVID-19

Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19, training sessions occurred twice a month. However, in response to the drastic increase in inflation and the challenges of securing sponsorships and funding, we have been compelled to reduce the frequency to once every three months.

Throughout the years, we have observed numerous encouraging outcomes, witnessing the spiritual growth and continued active involvement of many young individuals who have been part of our program since its inception. Furthermore, it is heartening to note that some of the older participants have now taken on roles as catechists within their local communities.
